500 Pens – Stories of Inclusion, Opportunity, and Respect…

500_pens_finalcI am proud to be a contributor to the new anti-hate news project 500 Pens, which was co-founded by the Southern Poverty Law Center. There is more that unites us than divides us, and I’m part of a coalition of 500+ volunteer writers, editors and photographers helping to tell that story. Check out the new website, “like” the 500pens Facebook page, and please spread the word!

Writers, photographers, and editors volunteer their time and effort to spread stories of inclusion and respect for others.

We write news stories rooted in the values we hold dear: inclusion, opportunity and respect, and we aim to produce honest and compelling content that encourages readers to care, connect and act. Our coverage features innovative social justice, activism and advocacy efforts; highlights valuable contributions by members of marginalized groups; explores the impact hate crimes and bias-related incidents have on people and communities; and profiles those who attempt to heal, unite and stand up for others.

Please support our efforts by reading our stories, following 500 Pens, signing up for the newsletter, liking us on Facebook, and tweeting about us @500pens. And of course, let us know if there is a story that needs to be told.
